It Is Time to Rally!!Taiwan Tourism Brings the Rainbow Bridge to the Seattle Pride Parade

Inviting International Travelers to Continue Their Pride Journey from Seattle to Taiwan

The Taiwan Tourism Administration's San Francisco Office just finished participating in the 2026 Seattle Pride Parade, organized by Seattle Pride on June 28, 2026, presenting a Taiwan-themed float under the banner "Rainbow Bridge — Taiwan x Seattle: A Connection of Love & Freedom." Through this colorful celebration, Taiwan showcased its values of freedom, diversity, equality, and its welcoming environment for travelers to residents of Seattle and visitors from around the world.

Inspired by this year's Seattle Pride theme, "It Is Time to Rally," the Taiwan Tourism Administration embraced the message that now is the time to come together and stand alongside one another through action. Pride is more than a celebration—it is a gathering rooted in understanding, support, and solidarity. By participating in Seattle Pride, Taiwan invited LGBTQIA+ allies from different cultures, cities, and communities to discover Taiwan as one of Asia's most welcoming travel destinations and to continue the Pride celebration at Taiwan Pride in Taipei on October 31.

Representing "Taiwan Tourism in Seattle," the delegation included members of the local Taiwanese community and international friends. The Taiwan contingent brought the spirit of Taiwan to the streets of Seattle through a vibrant rainbow-themed float featuring Taipei 101, bubble-filled interactive experiences, T-POP music, and Taiwan Pride flags. The float's rainbow design, crowned by a colorful installation of Taipei 101, symbolized Taiwan building a Rainbow Bridge of love and freedom across the Pacific, connecting Seattle and Taipei—two cities that embrace diversity and inclusion.

A special highlight of this year's parade was the appearance of Taiwanese drag queen Felicia Oh, who served as the featured ambassador aboard the float. Wearing an extravagant costume inspired by Taiwan's iconic bubble tea, Felicia Oh delighted parade-goers while showcasing Taiwan's creativity, warmth, and cultural identity. Bubble tea, one of Taiwan's most beloved cultural symbols, was transformed into a joyful Pride icon, while bubble machines created a dazzling visual experience, symbolizing love, freedom, and inclusivity "bubbling" throughout the streets of Seattle.

Szu-Hsien (Sylvia) Lee, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration's San Francisco Office, remarked that Seattle Pride's theme, "It Is Time to Rally," not only serves as a call for the LGBTQIA+ community to unite, but also reflects Taiwan's long-standing commitment to freedom, diversity, and equality. Taiwan is the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage and offers visitors a destination where they can freely explore, feel safe, and experience genuine hospitality. Through its participation in Seattle Pride, Taiwan hopes to share a clear message with audiences across the Pacific Northwest: Taiwan welcomes every traveler and warmly invites everyone to experience Taiwan Pride and the vibrant energy of Taipei this autumn.

Throughout the parade, the Taiwan float featured a lively playlist of T-POP music representing Taiwan's diverse culture and Pride spirit, allowing spectators to experience the energy of Taiwan's contemporary music scene. Parade attendees also received specially designed Taiwan Pride flags, welcoming them into Taiwan's rainbow family. The campaign concluded with the invitation:

"The Party Continues in Taipei. See You on October 31st."
