The Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Seattle (TTIC) successfully hosted the "So Taiwaneasy Summer Festival" at the newly re-opened landmark Pier 58 on August 9–10, 2025. The two-day event transformed Seattle's waterfront into an immersive "Little Taiwan," attracting more than 25,000 local residents and international visitors. With its lively atmosphere, the festival became one of the highlights of Seattle's summer season.

The entrance archway, designed with lush greenery, symbolized the beginning of "a journey from Seattle into Taiwan." Lanterns decorated the marketplace to create a festive night market ambiance, while a photo wall became a social media hotspot. Participating brands included China Airlines, EVA Air, STARLUX Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Travel Answers Group, as well as Seattle's Taiwanese eateries such as Yi Pin Soup Dumplings, Tapioca Express, Champion Braised Snacks, Tofu 101, Chi-Bakery, and Flour & Butter. Visitors enjoyed Taiwanese delicacies from bubble tea to street snacks, along with classic carnival games. The atmosphere was further elevated by DJ Mish, a Taiwan-born artist, who energized the crowd with live performances featuring Taiwanese hits. As the sun set over the harbor, music and ocean breezes blended into a unique waterfront party scene that kept the audience engaged late into the evening.

One of the festival's highlights was the grand raffle giveaway, offering prizes such as round-trip economy tickets from Seattle to Asia, premium cabin tickets from the U.S./Canada to Asia, and round-trip economy tickets from Seattle to Taipei. The most coveted prize was an "open-choice Asia ticket," allowing winners to select any Asian destination. On stage, representatives from the four participating airlines — Angela Ip (Sales Manager, China Airlines), Yang Chin-Hui (General Manager, EVA Air), Liu Tsung-Wei (General Manager, STARLUX Airlines) — together with Sylvia S.H. Lee (Director, Taiwan Tourism Administration San Francisco Office) drew the lucky winners amid loud countdowns and applause. Each announcement was met with cheers, creating an electric atmosphere that brought Taiwan and Seattle closer than ever.

To further enhance Taiwan's brand visibility, the Taiwan Tourism Administration launched a special Seattle Streetcar activation. From August 4 to September 2, 2025, one car on the First Hill Line was wrapped with the iconic design of Taiwan's Alishan Forest Railway engine. The exterior featured vibrant imagery of Taiwan's cultural and natural treasures — from indigenous heritage and majestic mountains to coastal scenery and urban skylines — transforming the streetcar into a "moving landscape." As it traveled through downtown Seattle, it attracted passersby to stop, take photos, and experience a preview of Taiwan's unique charm.

To extend engagement, a limited-time photo challenge was introduced: participants who took a picture with the Alishan-themed streetcar, tagged @taiwantourism.na on Instagram, and submitted a screenshot via email to TTICSEA@mediawave.co before September 9 were eligible to redeem a free Hakka floral bag at the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Seattle. Supplies were limited, adding excitement to the promotion.

Director Sylvia S.H. Lee emphasized:

"According to TTA statistics, the U.S. ranked as Taiwan's fourth-largest inbound market in 2024. Seattle has become a critical gateway with direct flights from China Airlines, EVA Air, STARLUX Airlines, and Delta Air Lines to Taipei. This festival brought together culture, music, and food, successfully sparking enthusiasm and goodwill for Taiwan tourism among both locals and international travelers. By enabling direct engagement between airline and travel industry partners with festivalgoers, the event not only strengthened Taiwan's tourism brand visibility but also fostered tangible opportunities for future travel."
