To introduce the beauty of Taiwan to American travelers, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is launching an immersive interactive art installation — “HeyHey Taipei: Immersive Door Experience” — at Westfield Southcenter Mall from October 8 to November 7, 2025.

Centered on the creative concept of the “door,” HeyHey Taipei symbolizes Taiwan’s accessibility and openness as a hub of Asian travel. According to Szu-Hsien (Sylvia) Lee, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration’s San Francisco Office, the installation aims to use imaginative design to create a visual highlight in the mall, drawing visitors in. Guests are invited to push open the symbolic “Immersive door” — the starting point of a journey — and cross the boundary between imagination and reality. Amid shifting light and shadow, they can experience the warmth of Taiwan. The installation conveys the message: “Traveling to Taiwan feels as easy as coming home.”

The “Immersive door” combines sound, light, and immersive visuals to showcase iconic scenes of northern Taiwan: the romantic release of sky lanterns in Shifen, the bustling crowds at Keelung Miaokou Night Market, the glittering skyline of Taipei 101, the tranquil glow of New Taipei’s Yinhe Cave Waterfall, and the rhythmic tides at Laomei Green Reef. Each scene serves as a preview of an unfolding journey, allowing visitors to feel the pulse of the city and the breath of nature as if they were already on the island.

To extend the experience beyond the experience, Taiwan Tourism Administration has partnered with Expedia, China Airlines, EVA Air, and STARLUX Airlines to launch an exclusive flight-and-hotel promotion zone, making trip planning seamless and convenient.

Explore Taiwan Now:Waves of Wonder

This special promotion features curated Taiwan-themed travel packages, ranging from city cultural explorations and outdoor adventures to culinary and historical tours. Visitors can enjoy a variety of vacation options with easy booking services. Next to the “Time Gate” at Westfield Southcenter, a dedicated QR code allows attendees to scan on-site and plan their trips instantly — turning inspiration into departure.

From Westfield Southcenter to the Seattle Monorail stations, and extending to Expedia’s exclusive offers, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has built an online and offline campaign to comprehensively promote the theme of “Taiwan Transit.” Online efforts focus on social media engagement, generating high visibility and interaction. Offline, a month-long promotion at Seattle Monorail’s South Lake Union and Seattle Center stations further boosts Taiwan’s visibility in the city.

This integrated 360-degree marketing strategy guides residents of Greater Seattle from “awareness of Taiwan” to “developing interest” and ultimately to “booking flights” — creating a seamless brand marketing cycle. The initiative strengthens Taiwan’s international image as a convenient transit hub and an appealing travel destination, encouraging more travelers to see Taiwan, feel Taiwan, and fall in love with Taiwan while discovering their own “Taiwan moments” along the journey.
